I Love Striped Socks

I switched up the blog design. First, switched the domain over to nearly free hosting with free Wordpress. Saving money is always a plus. This way is even more economical than the prior "really economical" option I had. That switch created a Wordpress template with one generic "Hello World" post. So I switched everything over from my prior platform. Tried to keep it intact, somewhat.
Epiphany: It doesn't matter how well my blog does in the blogosphere. What matters more is that it's an extension of myself, my opinions, etc. A safe place for me to go and be me. Remember, I've not gotten to be "me" for much of my life. I'm just now beginning to become me, find me. And, in switching everything over I got to re-read my posts and comments. I realize I haven't even gotten past the tip of the iceberg yet. I have so much more inside me. Much of it is funny, humor. I guess that's how I relate best. So I realized I could be MORE. Be me, that is. I am so happy that I've figured out templates and Wordpress and some CSS, but there is a lot more. What's important is for me to gain these skills, so I can teach my children (technology is so important) and maybe one day I can do it for money. Who knows? I am also so happy I've gotten to meet the Dear Blog Readers I have and get to know them a little more. Think: in the 1800's we'd have to travel a month by wagon to chat. It's pretty amazing what technology can do in the form of communication.

Hi Lauren! Thank you. There are still a few bugs and a lot more I'd like to customize. (If I get time!)

Hey Gabrielle,
Congrats on your blog change! Hope things are going well in the lead up to the big move. Anyway wanted to ask you if there is a reason I can't see your whole blog posts in my google reader? All I get is a teaser and then saying "for more go to...." Of course I do follow up on the website but I can read the whole post of the other blogs I follow which is much easier.

Like I said before. I love the new design. All your hard work has paid off. And being yourself is great. Because who you are is fabulous!

Hey Girly

I love Wordpress it's my blog of choice. And i used to wear striped socks however I have wore the boring white for so long. I am going to venture out and when I have an extra couple bucks perhaps buy some striped ones or maybe just a cool pattern. Love the new blog and I'm enjoying getting to know you as you do.

Thank you, Corey, and always for your comments!!! I love stuff like that, too! Stockings are fun. Like you, I also heart fishnet stockings. I find you can wear them in the winter time with knee high boots and a very basic skirt and it looks very classy yet still a little sexy.

For anyone wishing to try this, even in the summer, just pair very basic, professional looking clothes with the fishnets so everything else is toned down and the fishenets are peeping a little. Not that I am Michael Kors or anything like that. But I've watched enough of Tim Gunn on Project Runway to know a few rules, lol.

Thank you, Bri! Wordpress always looked cool, just never knew how to use it before. FYI - I'm betting after halloween the seasonal ones will be on sale. We can go stock up, no pun intended. =)

LOL i went to BYU and tights were my way of expressing myself in the conservative environment that BYU is...i've had some super crazy ones in my time LOL i'm in my 30's now and still sport my crazy stockings...i was actually going to wear white fishnet stockings the day i got married but my sweet hubby forgot to bring them (he had to pick them up for me at a dance shop) so i wore regular plain ol' white ones...i think every woman should try to wear a pair of fishnet stockings to a conservative affair at least once in her life...i wear them to church at least once a month LOL
