Another big FAIL

So, I'm drinking lots of water.

And this may be way too much info but.....I've still got blood in my urine/stool and stomach pain.

Then, on a routine check I do over my body, I noticed two areas.  One is about the size of a dime, pink, scaly, flaky.  Circle shape.  The next is new, dark, big, with the ABCDE's of melanoma.

So in addition to freaking out about the stomach pain issues, I freak out even more so about the potential melanoma.  Because melanoma is deadly.  Like super deadly.

Keep in mind I already have a referral to the dermatologist through my primary provider.  I had to ask her several times for one after she burned another flaky pre-cancer area over my eyelid.  The dermatologist biopsied it after my first seeing his physician assistants.  Twice.  Third time's a charm, right?  WRONG.  So he gives me this chemotherapy cream to apply and it removed my eyelid.  Like a skinned knee.  I now have a scar that looks like a black eye.  And, the best part?!  It's STILL bleeding and peeling!  After treatment.  So what do I do?  I ask them what to do, of course.  And they say "well, try it again."

Now, the flaking, peeling, bleeding covers my eyelid.  So do I put the cream down to my lash line or up into my brow line?  Do I treat next to it? Where exactly should I put it on this treatment?  In my humble opinion they need to do small biopsies around the area to see exactly where the cells start and stop growing.  This way it's treated properly and in five, ten, fifteen years I'm not going blind and having my entire eyelid removed.

Same thing is happening on my ear.

Same thing is happening on my leg.

Sigh.  It's so very frustrating.

And nevermind that the blood in the urine/stool could be an ulcer and/or colon cancer and/or a metastasized melanoma.  I don't even bring that up today when I go in to see yet another doctor.  Who looks and says "wait and see".  Then I ask her for a different referral, after showing her my eye and SHE AGREES and says my eye looks bad and says "He's a good doctor, though.  Just go back and try talking to him again."

This, my Dear Blog Readers is why US health care STINKS.  Even when you HAVE insurance, you have to fight and fight and fight to get anywhere.

So I e mailed another different dermatology clinic and said "I'll pay cash.  Just remove the area.  Please."

And I'm waiting to see what they say.

As for the dehydration - I've been drinking lots of water.  No caffeine, no soda.  Hopefully that will heal my stomach.

For those of you going through this sort of thing - I feel your pain.  It is quite frustrating.

HOLY COW i hope you can find a doc that will actually help you soon...i have NO loyalty to any doctor until they've earned it from me...i have no problem going to different docs until i find the one i want...i had 3 while preg w/ my 2nd child because the 1st was a total jerk w/ a god complex, the 2nd to 3rd was because we moved from fl to sc...oh wait, i had a 4th, because my 3rd was out of town the day i gave birth

i'm all for doctor hopping until you find one that actually does their job...the wait and see tactic is a great way for someone to get super sick when something smaller earlier would've fixed the problem

I'm not sure if that's just a WA thing, because I can't imagine any of the docs I've worked for being so nonchalant. If you want to come out to CA or UT, I can hook you up with some GREAT doctors who will give you the care you need. I've got an AWESOME dermatologist in SLC. I've also had to use that chemo cream...
