Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Program, Already in Progress: Eyebrow Tattoos

In August, Mister Valentine was networking and finding referrals for a marketing company.  One of the referral clients he was working with offered him a very discounted deal for eyebrow tattoos since she knew our anniversary was coming up.  She knew me already and she was being really nice by offering this.

It seems to take a while for me to use gift certificates.  I'm not sure why.  I have one from last year at Christmas for Old Navy which I still haven't used.

So it took me until December to use the gift certificate for the eyebrow tattoos.   I guess I was a little nervous and a little busy.

While I was at the salon, the woman offered to do my eyeliner, as well.  Even though my eyebrows turned out great and the process was not terribly painful, having the tattoo needles so close to my actual eyeball seemed like it would hurt too much, so I skipped the eyeliner part.

The ink used for permanent makeup is composed differently than regular tattoo ink.  It fades a lot over time and to keep it up you really need to get a touch up every couple years or you'll barely be able to see any remants of the actual tattoo.

I can tell you that it's saved me a good 20 minutes each time I do makeup and the trade off was worth it in the time I can spend with the kids rather than putting on makeup.  I wake up with eyebrows now and don't have to try to struggle to draw straight lines with the eyebrow brush while my kids hang on me.

Would I suggest you do it?  I would....if you struggle with thin eyebrows daily.  If having eyebrows on when you wake up is going to save you A LOT of time, I'd suggest doing it.  My eyebrows have always been very thin and don't have the downward curve - even when I've tried to let them grow in I just don't seem to have much hair in that area.  Now they are perfectly shaped and arched.  I love them.

I would be scared out of my mind. Knowing my luck I would get some kind of clown look. "What, I thought you said you wanted a unibrow."

Luckily for me (I guess) I have eyebrow hair to spare and am much more concerned about plucking than drawing!

LOL if i'm going to get a tat, it's not going to be my eyebrows...it's a secret desire i have, BUT i have MULTIPLE reasons for not doing it

#1 i don't have the cash it would take to get the quality of tat that i desire, and i refuse to spend my money on crap

#2 i'm 99% sure i WON'T want a tat when i'm an old wrinkly grandma type

#3 even though i'm an adult my mother would KILL ME

#4 my body is a temple and i wouldn't walk up to the temple and spray paint it would i?

and i'll admit, these are in order of importance LOL

YAY for having more time NOT doing make up...i simply choose to go w/o most of the time because...well, make up really isn't my thing...if i'm feeling particularly ugly or want to look nice for my hubby i'll do it, but as a general rule...it's a waste of my time LOL

Yes, I still have the wigs, however, I haven't been wearing them lately as I haven't left the house very much due to the weather and holidays. But we did have some friends from my husband's over who served missions with him in Italy and her and I had fun trying on all my wigs while they were here.
